Each year the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), supported by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), hosts Continuous Improvement Workshops to engage with WAP network stakeholders on tangible ways to improve program implementation.
Two Continuous Improvement Workshops will be held in 2023. The first workshop will be in-person and offer two tracks: improving contractor outreach and engagement; and removing barriers to weatherizing multifamily properties. The second workshop will be virtual and will focus on innovative programs and partnerships that can help grow the impact of WAP. Details for each workshop are shown below:
Workshop #1: Contractor Engagement & Multifamily Weatherization*
- Monday, April 17, 2023, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. PT
- In-person, in coordination with the National Home Performance Conference in Seattle, WA.
Workshop #2: Innovation and Partnerships
- Wednesday, July 19, 2023, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. MT
- Virtual.
These workshops are open to all WAP stakeholders and offer an opportunity for participants to identify challenges and solutions that will be shared with the Department of Energy.
To participate, submit an application by 5 p.m. PT on Friday, January 27, 2023. Applicants will be notified of status by Friday, February 10.
Questions about the application or workshops may be directed to weatherization.support@nrel.gov.
*Please note, a per diem reimbursement is available to current and prospective weatherization contractors to help cover the costs of attending this event. WAP agencies can utilize Training and Technical Assistance (T&TA) funds to help cover these costs for staff or existing contractors. Current WAP contractors can utilize the per diem reimbursement OR T&TA funds, not both.
